Description / 3/4 in. PEX-A x 3/4 in. NPT Male Pipe Threaded MPT Adapter (NSF Lead Free DZR Brass F1960 PEX Cold Expansion Fitting)
The 247Garden 3/4-inch PEX-A x 3/4-inch NPT Male Adapter is a heavy-duty plumbing fitting engineered to connect 3/4-inch PEX-A tubing to any standard 3/4-inch female threaded outlet. Constructed from lead-free, dezincification-resistant (DZR) brass, this fitting is NSF certified for potable water use and built to meet ASTM F1960 standards for cold expansion PEX systems.
This adapter is an essential transition piece when connecting flexible PEX-A piping to threaded outlets, valves, or manifolds. With its durable construction and superior flow characteristics, it provides both professional plumbers and DIY installers a reliable solution for residential and commercial plumbing applications, as well as hydronic heating systems.

How to Install the 247Garden 3/4 in. PEX-A x 3/4 in. NPT Male Adapter
Step 1: Threaded Side
-
Wrap PTFE (Teflon) tape or apply thread sealant to the male NPT threads.
-
Hand-thread the adapter into the female threaded outlet or fitting.
-
Tighten securely with a wrench, but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the threads.
Step 2: PEX-A Side
-
Cut the 3/4-inch PEX-A tubing squarely using a PEX tubing cutter. Ensure the cut is clean and smooth.
-
Slide a 3/4-inch PEX expansion ring over the pipe end.
-
Use a PEX expansion tool to expand the tubing and ring. Rotate the tool slightly between expansions for an even stretch.
-
Immediately insert the barb of the fitting into the expanded pipe until it seats fully against the shoulder.
-
Hold in place briefly while the tubing naturally contracts over the barb to form a watertight seal.
Tips and Tricks for Best Results
-
Always use an ASTM F1960 cold-expansion tool; this fitting is not compatible with crimp or clamp systems.
-
Seal threads properly. Always apply Teflon tape or approved thread sealant to NPT threads for leak-free joints.
-
Never dry fit. PEX-A tubing must be expanded before insertion.
-
Allow full contraction. Do not disturb the connection until the tubing shrinks fully onto the barb.
-
Keep fittings clean. Dirt, oil, or debris can compromise seals.
-
Test under pressure before putting the system into service.
-
Avoid overtightening threads, which can damage fittings or create stress cracks.
Why This Adapter is Useful
-
Provides a strong, code-compliant transition between PEX-A tubing and threaded plumbing connections.
-
Simplifies installation by combining flexible PEX-A with durable brass NPT threads.
-
Saves time compared to copper soldering or CPVC solvent welding.
-
Compatible with potable water distribution and hydronic heating systems.
-
Expansion PEX design delivers greater flow efficiency and lasting reliability.
