Installation Tips & Tricks for PEX-A Expansion Fittings
-
Cut Clean and Square – Always use a PEX tubing cutter to ensure the pipe end is perfectly square. Avoid angled cuts as they can lead to poor sealing.
-
Inspect the Expansion Ring – Slide the PEX-A expansion ring over the pipe, making sure it is flush and properly aligned with the pipe end.
-
Expand Smoothly – Use a certified PEX expansion tool. Rotate slightly between expansions to ensure uniform stretching of the pipe and ring.
-
Insert Immediately – After the final expansion, insert the reducing coupling into the pipe quickly. The pipe will naturally shrink back down, gripping the fitting tightly.
-
Allow for Recovery – Give the joint a few minutes to fully contract before applying pressure. In cold weather, allow extra time for the PEX to recover its shape.
-
Support Your Lines – Properly secure PEX lines with hangers or supports to prevent unnecessary stress on fittings and connections.
With proper installation, the 247Garden 3/4 x 1/2 inch PEX-A Reducing Coupling provides a worry-free, permanent connection that outlasts many traditional plumbing methods.
